About me

Hello

tony-jaffaI am a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.  I specialise particularly in eating disorders and also have extensive experience of a wide range of child and adolescent mental health problems.

After working for many years full time for the NHS in Cambridge, I have now moved to divide my time between voluntary work with refugees at the Helen Bamber Foundation and Baobab, and private work at the Child and Family Practice in Bloomsbury, London.

Services I offer at The Child and Family Practice are assessment and treatment of children and teenagers with a range of disorders including

  • anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders
  • mood disorders such as anxiety and depression
  • relationship difficulties
  • effects of loss and grief
  • effects of trauma

Treatments I provide include

  • Individual and Family based psychological therapies
  • Medication
  • Psychoeducation
  • Motivational therapies

I work alongside Psychiatrists, Paediatricians, Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists, Educational Experts and colleagues from other disciplines.  This means that depending on the nature of the problem I am able to access the expertise of these colleagues for one off opinions or as part of a treatment programme.
